Choosing a Double Umbrella Stroller
When shopping for a double umbrella stroller it is important to consider your family's needs and priorities. This will allow you to narrow your choices and concentrate on the most important features.
Uppababy G-Link 2 is an excellent, upscale double umbrella stroller, that's well-constructed and folds compactly. It comes with large umbrellas and an enormous storage container. It's also simple to move.
Lightweight
The best double umbrella strollers are compact and lightweight, but still offer a lot. They aren't as heavy as a conventional stroller or jogger and are typically smaller when folded, too. They don't have the bells, whistles, and storage space that are found in full-size strollers, they do have large canopies and seating that reclines.
Many families choose an umbrella stroller that is lightweight because it's an ideal stroller for traveling. It is easy to fold and fits into most carry-on bags or trunks for planes. It is an excellent option for narrow doorways and busy streets. It's cheaper than more feature-rich "travel stroller" that you might use for everyday walks.
Some of the top double strollers, such as the UPPAbaby G-Link 2 have features that aren't found on the lighter models. This double umbrella stroller features hanging storage pockets with trays for toys and snacks on each seat, as well as two cupholders for parents. The streamlined design makes this
double umbrella stroller one of the most compact on the market. It also comes with an extra wide canopy to safeguard both seats.
Other options that are lightweight such as the Joovy Kooper X2, have more of the bells and whistles that you would expect from a double umbrella stroller, including a more comfortable ride for both kids thanks to padded seating and a more comfortable recline in each seat. It's important to keep in mind that the more features you choose the more the stroller will weigh. It is also important to be careful that your child doesn't catch their fingers on the frames or hinges of these strollers because of the way they open and close.
Compact
The smallest double umbrella strollers that fold are easy to maneuver and fit well in tight spaces. They're a good choice for parents who plan to use their stroller often on sidewalks, in shopping centers, or to get around tourist attractions like the zoo, aquarium or museums. These compact strollers that are lightweight are also ideal for commutes or as a backup to the heavier, more equipped stroller when traveling.
There are two general styles of lightweight double umbrella products: those with very few features, and those that provide a number of comfort and convenience features in addition to their compact size and light weight. Some of the better examples include nice-sized pop-out canopies with SPF 50 and peekaboo windows with padding seats and 5-point safety harnesses for both seat areas, reclining seats, and adjustable leg rests. You should also consider whether you'd like an attachment for your car seat as well as a tray for parents and the amount of storage space that is available in each seat.
The Delta Children LX
double pram buggy Umbrella is a light, low-cost umbrella that is very affordable. The stroller weighs only 18 lbs, has a handy carrying strap and can be stored in the trunk of your vehicle or front hall closet. Its front wheels are high-tech and swivel to provide more comfort and ease of steering. The new Kinderwagon Hop is a tandem umbrella stroller with a narrow width, which is also ultralight and easy for you to navigate through doorways. The model was out of the market for a few years however, it's back in production and worth a look. It also has a three-panel canopy, which provides better sun protection than smaller models.
Easy to Fold
The most basic umbrella strollers fold down like an umbrella, and they weigh less than other kinds. They are easy to lift, carry and stow and are ideal those times when you do not want to take your full-size pram for whatever reason (traveling via plane, traveling to a foreign country, visiting grandma). They often come with fewer features than a fully-featured stroller, however they should offer the essential features you need like a sun canopy and storage.
The G-Link 2's most recent version is slimmer, lighter and has a more efficient wheel structure on the front that improves its maneuverability and pushability. It's a great choice for a double stroller, and it's Disney-approved!
A
double stroller with car seat tri-fold stroller, like the Joovy Kooper X2, offers all the comfort of a stroller with an umbrella, but in a body that's similar in size to a full-size stroller. This kind of stroller is fast replacing the standard double umbrella model, and it might be the best choice when you're looking for a versatile stroller that is lightweight and easy to carry around.
Most double umbrella strollers that we recommend are side-by-side models. The Kinderwagon Hop is an umbrella tandem stroller that is super lightweight, easy to fold and relatively narrow. If you're looking for a cheap simple, minimalist, no-frills umbrella stroller you can toss in your trunk or back pack for quick trips, we recommend this model. It comes with two storage bins that hang from the bags on the back of each seat, and parent cupholders. It's so basic that it's unlikely to get your kids through the airport without causing them
ready to grow double stroller be cranky, but it will help to make the trip more comfortable.
Comfortable Seats
Most umbrella strollers aren't equipped with many bells and whistles because they are designed for one purpose: to get two children from one place to the other. That means they usually offer seats that are comfortable and spacious however they don't come with reclining options or wheels that are all-terrain.
The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 is the exception. It is a small and light double umbrella stroller with two seats that weigh only 18 lbs. This makes it a fantastic option for those who travel. It has excellent suspension, a large three-panel canopy that easily shields kids from the sun, and plenty of storage space in both seats, although not as much as our top picks. It also comes with the essential 5-point safety harnesses that are in both seats and peek-a-boo windows in their canopies.
A downside of the G-Link is that it doesn't have the belly bar and snack tray that we like to see in our top picks, however they aren't necessary features for an umbrella stroller, anyway. And, like any umbrella stroller, it should be used with care to ensure that fingers--whether your own or children's get trapped in the folding frame hinges and mechanisms.
The seats in a double umbrella stroller are typically side by side, but there are some models that are inline (one seat behind the other). Inline models are more convenient to maneuver through doorways than side-by-side models, but they often have a disparity between seating features that could make your kids argue over who has the best seat. This issue was pretty equally split among our previous test participants and it comes down to the individual preference.
Safety
When choosing a stroller for your child safety must be your top priority. The design of the double stroller umbrella can make or break its performance. While it's hard to find a lightweight
double infant strollers stroller that provides the same level of safety as full-sized strollers, some models are close. These strollers usually have 5-point harnesses and feet and calf rests designed for children, aswell with an extendable UPF 50and sunvisor. They tend to be smaller and lighter compared to other double umbrella strollers. This makes them more maneuverable in tight spaces such as airports or on city streets.
Certain models, such as the Kinderwagon Hop are side-byside and are simple to push even in tiny spaces. This stroller is ideal for parents who are traveling with their children and who need a convenient and fast way to get around. It's also compact enough to fit into the trunk of a car.
Another model worth considering is the UPPAbaby G-Link 2, which is among the most lightweight double umbrella strollers we've have tested. It has a very sturdy design for an umbrella and features large, easy-to-access storage basket, reclining seats and a peek-a-boo window. The seat can also support 35 lbs. and meets Disney stroller requirements.
Other models, such as the Jeep PowerGlide double stroller, are more minimalist in their design and may not come with as many features. They are light and can be used for backups or for occasional travel. They are also less expensive than renting one for a complete vacation or for a trip. They are also easy to lift, carry and fold.
